True Manhood

Romans 8:22(NKJV) says, “For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.” When Adam sinned against God and took the Word of the devil over the Word of God, Adam fell—and fell extremely hard in every way imaginable. Romans 5:12 (NLT) tells us, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” So we can see that this fall was catastrophic not just for humanity, but for the whole creation; trees, flowers, mountains…all of nature and creation groans. Everything in creation is in pain, waiting to come together in Christ, so that things can be the way God intended from the very beginning.

God created matter, and He designed it to leave no space unoccupied. There are a whole lot of differences between God’s Word of Truth and the words of scientists who believe they are smarter than God; but on this one, there’s a little bit of agreement. Physics also cosigns that everything is made from matter; and that matter can be converted into energy, and back again. We also know from Science-101 that matter is made up of these tiny little units called atoms, and they contain a nucleus, which is in the center of the atom; they also have protons, neutrons, and electrons. Physics teaches us that electrons move around the atom in an elliptical pattern, and some biblical scholars that are trained in Physics believe this is due to the Fall of Man.

To think about this casually is a big mistake. The destiny that God placed within humankind is so vast, rich, and abundant, that everything—from the smallest to the greatest—was impacted when Adam lost his connection to God, and also lost the dominion God had given him. God created us to live an eternity with Him. Eternity has no end. It is not linear in the way that we think of time, which has a beginning and an end. Eternity is circular. It’s like the eternity band that a couple would give to each other when they are married. The eternity ring is a circle, symbolizing a never-ending love and union. Before Adam fell, it is believed that electrons moved in a circle like eternity, and not elliptically. So, we can see that Adam’s disobedience was so cataclysmic that even the smallest particle of matter was affected by it.

As men living in modern times, if we do not take our rightful place with Christ’ authority, our legacies will turn out to be ones of disaster and loss; like that of Adam’s. We see this happening all over at a tragic rate. It is because we don’t know who we are; we don’t realize the magnitude of what God has given us, and we’re not walking in the destiny He’s called us to.

The word ‘legacy’ in the Body of Christ is a very undervalued word. We must understand that God works through families to move His agenda in the earth forward. He handpicked and worked through the Israelites not because they were perfect, but because they had distinguishing characteristics that would be conducive to ultimately making way for the birth of Jesus Christ. They had a destiny attached to them in the Divine Will of God, and so do we. This is why it is important that we consult God about every decision, and raise children that are taught to be obedient to the call of God.

Today, we see so many single men and women who do not understand the responsibility and privilege that God has placed in their hands. They do not honor Him, and have not rooted themselves in the foundation of God’s Word. Because of this, they have allowed the devil to roam through their lives and run amuck. The Word tells us in 1 John 3:8(NLT), “But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus Christ came to destroy, demolish, and obliterate the evil works of satan. This work continues through us. Christ got it started, but it is our responsibility to preserve, protect, and sustain our families against the enemies plots to destroy them. We can do it because he empowered us to get it done.

For those of us that are still single, God has already handpicked an individual who is perfect for us, a person that we can marry and create a family with so that we continue a legacy of strong, faithful believers. We should not take these decisions lightly. We must consult God about who He has ordained us to be with. Heavenly Father wants to do something extraordinary through us as men who honor Him, so that He can reward our obedience.

In John 17:20-21 (NLT), Jesus Christ prayed to Heavenly Father and said, “20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” Jesus was praying for disciples and everyone that would receive their message; that’s us! We are a recipient of their commitment to rise up like men, and move the message of Christ forward. We are in Christ. Everything that we do should represent the glory of him, because his is the benchmark that measures true manhood, and gives us the privilege to leave a legacy that matters and lasts.
