The Word of God Made Flesh

There are a few things about us humans that are pretty common. One of them is the fact that we like to see evidentiary proof of things. We’ve developed a court system based on evidence and truth; and in our court of law, a plaintiff and defendant must provide evidence to prove the validity and truthfulness of their cases. The pattern or structure for this court system didn’t just pop into someone’s head. The system of courts, laws, and order came from the Courts of Heaven. God set this in motion. He’s the originator, and we sometimes forget this.

It’s no secret that there are many people who do not believe in God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has created the earth and everything within it, including the lives of those that do not believe in Him. When we consider the magnificence of our Lord, it is unfathomable that anyone would doubt Him, but the brilliance of all that He has done isn’t enough proof for them. They want more evidence, and they look everywhere but His Word to find it.

Jesus Christ told us in John 16:9 (NLT), “The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.” Those of us that know Jesus in the pardon of our sins should feel so blessed that we have accepted him as our Lord and Savior. Through Christ we have received forgiveness of our sins and we are redeemed. We know him because his Spirit lives inside us. Some people will hear these words and they will not understand why a person would be so overwhelmingly excited about the reality of Christ. Well, you cannot be thankful for something you don’t understand, and even some Christians don’t fully comprehend what God has accomplished for us through Christ.

We live in a culture where everyone wants to do exactly as they please. Let’s face it, that’s the truth. People don’t want to hear about sin, or what it takes to live a Godly life. They just want to keep on doing what they’re doing. The truth is that none of us belong to ourselves. The Apostle Paul tells us in 1Corinthians 10:26 (NLT), “For “the earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it.”” God created us, and we belong to Him. Ephesians 1:7(NLT) tells us, “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”

God didn’t want robots; He wanted a family. He didn’t want to make us love Him. He wanted us to choose to love Him through our own free-will choice. One of the most important ways that we demonstrate our love for God is to be obedient to His Word. In order for us to be obedient to His Word, we have to trust that His Word is true. This is why our faith is so important to God, because our faith shows God that we believe the Words that He has spoken. We believe them so much that we are willing to live our lives by He says. This pleases Him.

Jesus Christ is our evidence that God’s Word is true. He is the Word of God made Flesh. Jesus Christ passed every test; and through his life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection, he made it abundantly clear that he loves us with an unconditional and everlasting love. This is the ultimate good news!

At one time or another, we will all come to a place where we will be disappointed by others, but Jesus Christ is all powerful, and he will never let us down. We can have faith that God will never fail us, and He will always be there; He will never leave us or forsake us.

John 1:1-4 (NLT) instructs us that 1In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. These verses make it very clear that Jesus Christ is the Word in the flesh, and he left the throne of God to come down to earth to show us the way.

God gave His only begotten son so that we would know the depth of His unfailing love. Everything that He wanted to accomplish in humanity was contained in Jesus Christ, His Son. When the verse says, “the word gave life to everything,” we need to understand that God’s Word gave us our very lives. When we know in our hearts that through Jesus Christ we have life, we will also have all the evidence we need that God will bless and sustain us, for His life is in us through Christ! He will heal us when we are sick, keep us safe, and preserve our lives.

John continues in Verse 5 (NLT) stating, “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.The introduction of light dispels darkness. If you are in a room that is pitch black, the only way you can see is if someone turns on the light. We cannot see without Jesus Christ. He is our light. He enables us to see and know the truth.

When we accept Jesus as our lord and savior, we are born again. We are not born physically again, but we are born-again in the spirit. Through Christ, we take on the Word of God, and it becomes our fuel for life. John 1:13- 14 (NLT) teaches us “13 they are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” God spoke His Word, and Jesus Christ became the embodiment of it in the flesh. He is full of unfailing love and faithfulness. He lives inside us through the Holy Spirit, and this is all the proof we will ever need.
