Let Go and Let God!

We are living in a time that is truly unprecedented. People have lots of anxiety because things are moving very frantically, with much confusion and chaos. However, God warned us many times in His Word that times like these would exist. He didn’t want us to be ignorant, and called on us to let our lights shine, so that we can help others find the path to Him. He reminds us in Ephesians 5:8 (NLT), “For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” This is what we have been called to do, and we are rewarded according to our obedience to do as Heavenly Father has asked us. But the world is full of distractions, and many of us are getting caught up in them. This will entangle us in problems and anxiety, so that we are not prepared to be the lights we need to be.

When we made Jesus Christ the head of our lives, we made a commitment to let him take the lead. This means that our agenda is no longer first. Heavenly Father cares about the things that are important to us, of course. He wants us to be happy and blessed, but we must acknowledge that HIS way to happiness and blessings will forever and always be the best way. We don’t see what God sees. He is Alpha and Omega. He has no beginning, and He has no end. He is outside of what we know as time. Therefore, our Heavenly Father knows the END at the BEGINNING.

God knows everything. He knows every outcome. He can see details we never see, and He knows exactly how we fit into His masterful plan for the entire universe. Ephesians 1:11(NLT) says, “Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” Every person that has made Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives are knitted together through his love. God knew that we would make the choice to let Christ be the center of our existences long before we made the decision. Ephesians 1:11 informs us that we didn’t choose Him first; He chose us! God chose us way before we were born on this earth, and He makes everything—every detail, from the smallest to the largest—work according to His plan. This should give us incredible faith and confidence. And He gives us a double dose of assurance in Romans 8:28(NLT), which teaches us, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

The things that are going on today are causing some people to panic. They are totally losing it and allowing their relationships with Heavenly Father to take a back seat. We worry about our bills, jobs, finances, relationships, and health; as if these are problems Heavenly Father can’t solve. He can, and if we’ll trust Him, He will!

Philippians 4:6(NKJV) tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” We shouldn’t be anxious about anything, but instead, we should take it all to God in prayer. He knew what we needed before we asked, and already has the answer to our dilemmas. He’s telling us “I know what you need, but you must invite me into your circumstances. I won’t bulldoze My way in, because bulldozing, pushing, and shoving is not the way Love behaves. Ask Me in, and then have confidence that I’ve received your invitation. Have faith in My ability to work it out. I have the perfect solution for you, and it was worked out even before you knew about the problem. So as an act of your trust in Me, go ahead and thank Me for what I’ve already done, even though you don’t see the manifestation of it yet. That’s right! Demonstrate your gratitude for what you don’t see with your physical eyes. Know that the answer is on its way!”

This is how we let go and let God. We thank God in advance through our faith, because we have confidence that nothing is too hard for Him. You see, we can’t see our problems as bigger than God. We can’t see them as bigger than the love He’s empowered us with to overcome any and every obstacle.

God has created each one of us for a specific calling. Even most scientist have concluded that no two humans have the same fingerprints. God created each one of us to carry out a specific assignment. We have a purpose, and included in this purpose is the task of being steady, when others are not. We can be steady and have confidence not because of who we are, but because of who God is. Our confidence should always be in Him. Jesus Christ told us in Mathew 6:33 (NLT), “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” No matter what we face, we should seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first, because no higher authority or power exists than His. We must humble ourselves to do what He’s told us to do. We have to strip away the fear and anxiety. We must let go and let God, because this places us in alignment with His Will. ■
