You’ve no doubt heard it said that information is power, but in truth, only the right information leads to power. It gives us a basis for making good decisions and right choices, but the right information is not useful to us unless we know how to apply it. Not only do we need to receive the right information, we need to understand how to make it work in our everyday lives. If we can’t or don’t apply it, then it doesn’t do us any good. God has given us His Word. It’s the right information, and He has created us with everything we need to put it on and live it. We also know that living the Word comes with some challenges. There are obstacles, and we have an enemy that tries to prevent us from digesting the delicious feast of God’s Word. Through the world system, we are bombarded with the wrong information constantly. Therefore, we need to do everything within our power to stay hungry for righteousness and develop confidence in God’s faithfulness, because as our confidence in Him grows, our appetite to receive and live the Word will grow as well.

All of us need help to navigate through life. There are many voices out there telling us to come to them for help. They want us to believe that they are able to do more for us than anyone else. If a person doesn’t know about God and the extraordinary blessings He offers us through the Lord Jesus Christ, they might listen to those voices. There are a number of individuals claiming to be of God. They are very convincing and people flock to them for information, but it’s not the right information, and the source of it is the devil. Heavenly Father warns us in Leviticus 19:31(MSG), “Don’t dabble in the occult or traffic with mediums; you’ll pollute your souls. I am God, your God.” Physics, mediums, and individuals dabbling in the occult are not a part of God’s Kingdom. They are from the kingdom of darkness. We need to keep a healthy distance from them, and not listen to any information they provide, because its damaging to our souls.

God has a plan for our lives through our Lord and Savior. In John 10:10(NLT), Jesus Christ tells us, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Most of us would settle for a life that is abundant, but the Will of God is that we live a life that is more than abundant. God is faithful to His promises. No matter what conditions or circumstances we are facing today, we can be assured that He wants to help us walk in victory. The only guide that we need is the Holy Spirit. He can be trusted, because he is the Spirit of Christ, the essence of the living God.

Life is lived at its best through obedience to God’s Word. Heavenly Father tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that it is impossible to please Him without faith, because we must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. An individual probably wouldn’t listen to someone that doesn’t know what he or she is talking about. They wouldn’t follow the directions of a person that doesn’t have the authority to lead. Our obedience to God’s Word signifies that we are honoring His truth, authority, power, and perfection. It lets God know that we trust His faithfulness, and we have confidence that He will back it up in our lives.

In Ephesians 3:15(NLT), the Apostle Paul reminds us of God’s Will for us through his prayer. He prayed, “ I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” God is faithful to lead, guide, and direct us in the plan He has for us. He desires that we become strong, and He accomplishes this through His Spirit. One of the Spirit’s jobs is to guide us in God’s truth (John 16:13). The Spirit tells us about Jesus Christ. Unlike those who speak for the devil, the Holy Spirit doesn’t tell us anything that isn’t pertaining to God’s Word and Will. This should give us tremendous comfort. Only the truth will give us a strong and solid foundation on which we can build an abundant and fulfilling life, and the indwelling Holy Spirit will remind us of the truth as we go about our days. He will convict our hearts when we sin and do the wrong things, and He also helps us to comprehend the bible as we read it. By paying attention and listening to the Spirit, we can accomplish God’s purpose and plan for our lives.

Romans 8:17 (NLT) tells us, “And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” As we move in obedience to God, again, things are not always going to be easy. Life can be very challenging, especially today. The things that God says are wrong, the world says are right; and vice versa. We can be ostracized and feel very isolated when we stand for Christ, but God is faithful to His Word. 2Thessalonians 3:3 (NLT) tells us, “ But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.”

In Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NLT), Heavenly Father said, “11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” God is always with us. He never leaves us or forsakes us, and His plan for our lives is a very good one. Verse 13 tells us that if we look for Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him. Sometimes this is our problem, we look for Him with doubt and fear in our hearts, and He does not deserve this. Our faith and trust in God demonstrates our gratitude for who He is. It signifies our love for Him. He has promised to love and take care of us, so we have nothing to fear, and everything to gain by trusting in His faithfulness. ■
